If you have applicants in the state of Utah and you will need them to complete a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), we have all the information for you right here.
Utah Business profiles
All businesses or organizations requesting Driver History Records in the State of Utah need to have a Business Profile in the state. This is required even if the business/organization is using another company, such as a background check provider, to obtain the driving records. Business profiles are created online and associations to the vendor(s) obtaining the driver records are established within these business profiles.
You will need to create a business profile with the state of Utah before Yardstik can run MVRs in Utah on your behalf.
Step 1 - Create a utah.gov account
Create a Utah.gov account for your business/organization.
Go to secure.utah.gov/account/login.html to create an account or log into your account if you already have one.
Once you have created your account, you will receive a confirmation email that includes a link you must click on in order to activate your account.
Step 2 - Complete business profile
To create a business profile, you will need:
to provide your Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) and basic information about your business (name, address, phone)
You will also need to select an organization type.
Most Yardstk customers select “Employer” even if they are onboarding independent contractors. If your business is a motor carrier, there is an option to select that. There is a link to organization type descriptions in that section of profile creation, if you have questions about the correct designation for your business.
You will need to agree to Terms and Conditions and then submit your profile for review and approval by the State of Utah. This typically takes up to 5 business days. You will receive an email once your profile has been approved.
If the review of your business profile is taking longer than 5 business days, you can email [email protected].
Step 3 - Set up vendor and sub-vendor relationships in the business profile
Once your business profile has been approved, or if you already have a business profile, you will need to set up vendor associations.
In your profile, select “Add Relationship” and enter the following:
| Vendor Name | Vendor ID |
Vendor | Compass Driving/Datalink | 1PM40PIKTS |
Sub-Vendor | Yardstik | 0QRWHQAYEM |
Be sure to save this new relationship to your profile!
Step 4 - Provide your organization ID to Yardstik
Once you have received an organization ID from the State of Utah and associated Yardstik and Compass in your business profile, please provide your Organization ID to Yardstik at [email protected] or chat with us at Yardstik.com
