Continuous Monitoring - How It Works

This article goes in-depth on how Continuous Monitoring works.

Updated this week

Reviewing a Monitoring Result

When a monitoring result is returned on a worker, you will see a review screen outlining the new information and the available next steps.

At this point, you have two options:

  • Proceed

  • Start Pre-Adverse Action

Each option serves a different purpose, depending on how you wish to respond to the new information.

Option 1: Proceed with the Worker

If you select Proceed, a confirmation pop-up will appear to ensure you want to move forward.

Once confirmed:

  • The worker will be proceeded

  • Their status will return to Compliant

  • Continuous Monitoring will continue as normal

No additional action is required after proceeding. The worker remains in your workforce and continues to be monitored on an ongoing basis.

Option 2: Start Pre-Adverse Action

If you determine that the monitoring result may impact the worker’s eligibility, you can choose Pre-Adverse Action.

When selected:

  1. A pop-up window will appear prompting you to select the reason for starting adverse action

  2. After selecting a reason, click Notify Candidate

  3. A pre-adverse action notice will automatically be sent to the candidate

At this stage:

  • The worker’s status will change to Non-Compliant

  • The worker will remain non-compliant until the adverse action process is completed

  • You may cancel the adverse action at any time if you decide not to move forward

The platform will guide you through each step of the adverse action workflow to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.

After You Take Action

Once you have selected Proceed or Pre-Adverse Action and completed the associated workflow, no further action is required.

Important: Do Not Archive the Worker

You do NOT need to archive the worker after taking action.

Archiving a worker will:

  • Disable Continuous Monitoring

  • Remove the worker from your active workforce

Archiving should only be used when:

  • A worker is no longer working for your organization, and

  • They no longer need to be actively monitored

Archiving a worker as part of a monitoring review will stop monitoring entirely and is not recommended unless the worker has fully separated from your organization.
