County delays can be a challenging aspect of background screening when you're trying to hire quickly. Delays can occur for a number of reasons - staffing shortages at the counties, redaction of key identifiers, technology issues and natural disasters. The list below contains known counties experiencing delays and may not be all inclusive with the changing environment.

The Court has redacted Date of Birth info, so requests need additional information to validate. Because of this, files need to be ordered for every possible name match

IDs removed from public access. Searches with no name matches can be returned as clear very quickly. Searches with name matches must be ordered through the clerks.

Limited appointments, limited file pulls, and clerk shortages add to the extended backlogs - delays expected.

A “cybersecurity incident” occurred in late January causing a widespread system outage for the Fulton County government. Expect delays as the backlog is worked through.

Most Kansas courts are back online and are working through the backlog of records and case information from October outage. Expect the listed counties to take longer.

County level automation and clerk searching has stopped while they court transitions to a new system. Expect 2–3-week delay (mid-April) until searches resume.

All searches in Justice Court are clerk-assisted and are mostly at a standstill now as they are changing their processes.
