Logging into your Yardstik account should be a breeze, but if you're having trouble, here are a few resources that might help.
First time login, how do I set this up?
Go to Yardstik and click Sign Up.
Input your email address (the same one that received the Yardstik New User Access email).
Create your password, enter your name, and click Sign Up.
You will then be prompted to verify your email.
Click Confirm My Account in the verification email from Yardstik, which will allow you to log in.
Authenticate
Make sure you are on the Log In tab of the Yardstik page.
You can authenticate with either an Authenticator app or via Text Message.
Authenticator app
You will be asked to register an Authenticator app with Yardstik. If you do not have an Authenticator app on your phone, a few free options to download are listed below.
Login to the Yardstik page using your username and password.
Open your authenticator app on your phone to add a new account. This will either be a + symbol or Add Account.
You should be given the option to scan a QR code.
When you use the authenticator app to scan the QR code on your computer screen, the application will register your account and then provide a unique code to Yardstik's login, which validates the code.
OR Text Message option
If you are a new user and have not logged in before using the authenticator app, select the "I'd rather use SMS" link under the QR code.
If you are an existing user and you would prefer to authenticate using text, reach out to our Support Team to reset your MFA to see the "I'd rather use SMS" option.
Use the purple chat icon at the bottom of your screen, select Support and follow the prompts.
You will see the I'd rather use SMS prompt below the QR code | Then enter your phone number to receive a text message.
|
And you're in! This is the ONLY time you will need to scan the QR code to log in to the Yardstik app. Next time you come back to log in, just enter the 6 digit code from the Authenticator app you just set up.
Logging back in
As you login to the Yardstik app in the future, your login selection will reappear.
If you have selected SMS to obtain the authentication code, you will immediately receive a code and be prompted to enter it.
If you are using the authenticator app to obtain the authentication code, you will be asked to present a 6-digit code from your authenticator app to show you still have it. If someone steals your credentials and attempts to log in, they still won't be able to without access to a one-time code from your device.
I'm still having trouble logging in
This doesn't happen often but there are a few more things you can try:
Make sure that your computer and device with the authenticator app are set to the same time zone.
If you have multiple Yardstik accounts listed in your authenticator app(s), delete all but one. The authenticator app is time sensitive so you will want to enter the most current code showing in the app.
If you are a User, your Account Admin can reset MFA for you. Once your MFA has been reset, you will have the option to use SMS to receive the authentication code via text
Common Login Questions
What is multi-factor authentication?
Multi-factor authentication is an account security measure that protects your account and your data. Using MFA ensures that you have valid login credentials and a one-time password (OTP) sent to a secure device or app of your choosing.
Trouble scanning the QR code?
If you're having trouble registering the QR code, click "Trouble Scanning?" to manually enter a code to create the new account and access your one-time password (OTP). Your OTP is essentially your safety net. You will want to copy the code listed into a password safe for future recovery.
Do you have a shared user account?
While not recommended, some accounts use a shared user account for access as admin or owner. To enable MFA on multiple devices, you will need follow the steps above to obtain the OTP code and share it with the other admins requiring access. Any user that needs to log in with the shared account will now have access to the OTP and be able to authenticate.
Will this affect me if I'm using an API integration?
For API users, there is no change. The existing key-based authorization and embedded views will continue to work without requiring the MFA flow.
โ
For integration users, the integrations will continue to work without change. However, any links back to the Account Dashboard will require MFA.How often do I need to re-authenticate?
When entering your 6-digit code, you'll have the option to remember your device for 30-days.
I have a new phone. How do I log in?
Because you have a new device, a new authenticated connection will need to be made. Start at the Authenticate portion of this article by downloading an authenticator app to your phone and following the next few steps.
