Understanding your Candidate Report

Information contained in each section of the background check report

Whether you are new to reviewing our background check reports or just have a question on a particular section, you've come to right spot!

While your candidate report may not look exactly like this image, there are sections that are standard in all reports. This includes the Report header, Invitation status, Identity Verification, Consumer Report, and Documents sections.


Candidate Report Header

This section contains the candidate's full name and report status along with their personal information that was either input by the candidate themselves, received via your platform API, or one of our many integration partners.


Invite

This section will display the dates when the candidate first received the link to start their background check, when the link was last sent to them as a daily reminder, and the date when they completed entering and submitting their personal information.

Note: the Completed On date may also change to "Canceled On" if the invite and/or report was canceled.


Identity Verification

Identity Verification is a cornerstone of our Trust & Safety Platform. This top-of-funnel verification allows you to verify and hire the right people faster while keeping bad actors out of your workforce. Save time and money on unnecessary background checks and hiring processes by removing fraud at the top of the hiring funnel.

Not all candidate reports will have Identity Verification and this is an add-on item that can be added to your package list. Contact your designated Yardstik Customer Success Manager or message us using the purple chat icon in the lower right for more information on this product.


Consumer Report

This section is the heart of the background check report where the results of each screening will appear along with a status.

Resend Invitation

A new feature added in April 2024, this allows you to Resend Invitation after it has Expired directly from this page. The same function is also located on the Invitations page under the Actions column.

Summary

Account Package is the name of the background check package you selected for this candidate.

Created On is the date the report was created or the date the invite was sent if you use Invitations.

Completed On is the date a report was marked as done, whether that is a Clear, Proceed, Final Adverse, or Canceled decision status.

Permissible Purpose comes directly from your MSA and SOW

Created By is the user who created the report.


Screenings

In this section you will see the type of screenings included in this package, along with the related status.

The type of search is listed on the left with the status on the right. Individual searches may show as Pending or Info Requested or Complete depending on where it is in the process.

Sometimes there are multiple search results shown under each search type and how many prior addresses the candidate may have. Each search type will have its own status. Once all results for that search type is complete, it will change from Pending to Clear or Consider.

You can export a .pdf version of this report by clicking on DOWNLOAD REPORT in any portion of the report.


Documents

Attachments

Any documents attached to the candidate's report by a Yardstik person will appear here and be visible to all account users, candidates, and Yardstik.

Legal Docs

These include all of the legal documents the candidate reviewed and consented to before they were able to submit their information for processing. The list of legal docs may vary slightly depending on your permissible purpose, your type of business, or the state the candidate resides in.


FAQ

Employment Verification

Why is the Employer Provided Information section blank?

Employment was not able to be verified. Often it is because the employer utlizes a work number for employment verification rather than a direct phone number.
