Ashby Integration

This article walks you through setting up and using the Yardstik integration in Ashby.

Setup Instructions

  1. Open two tabs:

    • Yardstik Integrations page

    • Ashby Integrations page

  2. Generate Yardstik API Key

    • In Yardstik, under the Ashby Integration card → click Generate

    • Copy the key

  3. Enable Yardstik in Ashby

    • In Ashby, click + Enable Yardstik

    • Paste the Yardstik key → Update

  4. Generate Ashby API Key

    • In Ashby, enter a name for your key → + Create new API key

    • Copy the key

  5. Complete in Yardstik

    • Paste Ashby key into Yardstik → Update

    • Toggle integration switch On

✅ Integration is now active.


⚙️ What You Can Do

  • Enable Yardstik from Ashby’s Integration Marketplace

  • Order invite-based assessments for candidates

  • Track assessment status: Ready, In Progress, Expired, Finished

  • View final results (Clear, Proceed, Final Adverse, Canceled)

  • Click through to full report details in Yardstik

ℹ️ Note: Ashby does not pass DOB or SSN. All reports must be invite-based.


👤 Ordering a Report in Ashby

  1. From the candidate list → open a candidate eligible for new activity

  2. Click + New Activity > Assessment

  3. In Add Assessment Activity:

    • Select Yardstik

    • Choose an Assessment Type (this will align with the Yardstik Packages)

    • Click Add Activity

    (At this point, no Yardstik report exists yet)

  4. When ready → click Start Assessment

    • Status updates to In Progress (with Sent date)

    • Click View in Yardstik for details


      If we cannot create the Report, we'll return our error, which is visible in Ashby

  5. Once finished → status updates to Finished with the final result


✅ Example Workflow

  • Candidate created in Ashby

  • Admin adds Yardstik assessment

  • Admin starts Yardstik assessment (invite sent)

  • Status → In Progress

  • Candidate completes invite → Yardstik finalizes report

  • Result syncs back to Ashby as Finished (Clear, Proceed, etc.)


👉 That’s it! You’re ready to run Yardstik assessments directly from Ashby.
